Reliable clients stimulate innovation at NS
NS is one of the clients that gives direction to the development of DocSys. NS was the first major client of the predecessor of DocSys. NS has been using DocSys since 2004. DocSys will support the migration from Office 2010 to Office 365 in 2017.
A good communication department works closely with the Board. It helps to land the big issues in the organisation. Our principal believes that suppliers must also contribute to this.
This is how the DocSys migration from desktop to the web coincided with the NS goal to reduce maintenance. And the facilitation of all types of ‘desktop clients’ (from Citrix to roaming profiles and SharePoint) was in the context of increasing availability. The reduction of waste was the reason for the development of the Central Tray Manager (always the correct print).
As a full user of the Suite, the NS inspires continuous innovation, such as recently with the use of the Office Toolbar Manager to ensure that the tool bar or ribbon has the same function in every version of Office. This saved the NS a great deal of familiarisation time in the migration from Office 2003 to 2010 because the user only needs the NS ribbon for his/her daily activities.
We recognised the possibilities offered by DocSys from the start. One of the core values of NS is reliability. We also demand this from our suppliers. DocSys has been helping us to maintain the house style in a user-friendly and simple manner for many years. As an organisation we are making a transition to a market and customer focus. The experience with the current DocSys-suite makes it easier for my internal client to migrate from Office 2003 to Office 2010 efficiently.Evert-Jan van Himbergen, Project manager Corporate Identity NS
In 1917, the Hollandsche IJzeren Spoorweg-Maatschappij started collaboration with the Maatschappij tot Exploitatie van Staatsspoorwegen and the Nederlandse Spoorwegen company was established. In 1938, they merged into the N.V. Nederlandse Spoorwegen (NS).
The Dutch railway network is the second busiest in the world and the busiest in Europe. NS consists of several companies that work intensively together, but which simultaneously operate independently (NS Holding, NS Reizigers, NS Poort, Abellio, NedTrain and NS Hispeed). NS employs more than 30.000 staff.
